One reason for that is that you present those surveys in context, as customers are using and interacting with your product.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Customers seem more likely to respond to in-app surveys, too, generating a higher response rate than other <a href=\"https:\/\/refiner.io\/blog\/user-surveys\/\">customer survey types<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Because of all that, it\u2019s so much easier to <a href=\"https:\/\/refiner.io\/blog\/customer-feedback-loop\/\">close the feedback loop<\/a> with in-app surveys.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>But there is a catch too. However, your question is not the only factor contributing to a survey\u2019s success.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, in our research into in-app survey response rates, we discovered that length, survey placement, and targeting greatly influence those. <em>(Note, <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/refiner.io\/blog\/in-app-survey-response-rates\/\"><em>you can check the research here<\/em><\/a><em>.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On top of that, your goals and timing will play a role in achieving success with this type of survey.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, let\u2019s run through those factors briefly.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Length.<\/strong> In our research, we discovered that completion rates drop with each additional question in the survey. As you can see from the results below, surveys with 1-2 questions achieved the highest completion rate by far. And we were sort of right. We discovered that most placements perform at a similar level.
